X-S.P.A.R. (Sports Performance Analysis Recorder)

The objective of the X-S.P.A.R Project is to design and develop a sports performance analyser for all sports with the initial focus on boxing. The project aim is to develop a wearable small wireless device that will detect an athlete’s heart rate and their other physical attributes such as the acceleration of limbs. A device sends this information back to the Base Station device in real time for the coach to read. The received data can also be sent to a lap top via USB for further analysis. X-S.P.A.R will be designed as a compact, portable and reliable system; a similar device is not currently available commercially.
